I’ll tell you Why you SHOULD apply sunscreen. Nurse. Worked in Operating Room for over 4 decades. Assisted Surgeons on hundreds of cases. If You had seen What I Have Seen it would make you change your tune about Not using Sunscreen. Depending on the type of Cancer, its depth, and how much it has spread and where the lesion is will affect the repair. Many Plastic surgeons can give you a good result but…. It depends on the factors I’ve written about above. Some of the Worst are on the nose. I’ve seen people lose half of their nostril due to the cancer. Cancers on Ears also.
Wear Your Sunscreen!!!!
Dr Mercola has been saying this for YEARS. Thank goodness people are catching up. Well done Liz for speaking out on this important topic.
I think the everyday recommendation has resulted from building habit and routine…the school if thought being if we aren’t used to doing it all the time we won’t do it when necessary. How short this sells people in being able to discern for themselves if their unique circumstances warrant its use! Consider advice but never stop thinking for oneself and be careful whose judgement you substitute for your own and why!
Get out your Pitchfork… I don’t wear sunscreen daily as I have found through my own experience that it’s not only a big business that creates a product that no one is using “as directed “ an 8 ounce bottle is good for 1 person at the beach to get what they “claim” and they degrade extremely quick and reapply .. the more you use the more you buy and time and time again ..and also if it was the sun than how does this explain skin cancer on areas that for most doesn’t see the light of day? Not saying you should rub Cisco & bake for 5 hours .. just saying us humans are over doing everything. Hopefully not coming across rude just sayingour immune system and not going overboard does has great benefits. Sleep , eat healthy & laugh a lot 🤍🖤😇
Thank you for speaking out on this, most discussion around it gets shut down by skincare enthusiasts/influencers. I regularly see influencers promoting spfs that cost £15-£30 and upwards for a tiny 30ml tube and promoting that you must use a tsp amount everyday, every few hours for adequate protection. This would quickly get incredibly expensive!
I live in the US, and wear mineral sunscreen whenever I’m going to be outside for awhile or in the car. My facial skin won’t tolerate chemical sunscreen and even though European chemicals are supposed to be safer, I wonder if they are the reason for the negatives in the quotes.
Also I recently learned it’s a common misconception about UVA = ageing and UVB = Burning because UVB causes burns plus majority of photo ageing.
I’m in Australia and at 40 started applying it every day. 18 months in the acne is present. But my main take away from this video is to keep it to look into reef safe mineral sunscreens and save it for our long trips in the car and outdoors during high UV days
My husband has worked outside for donkeys years he is 70 + and he is brown year round and hasn’t a wrinkle on his face, unlike me his slap it all over wife!! Mind you I am fair and freckley and burn very easily. 😊
Great info – thanks for sharing. I have very fair skin and at an age where I am considering trying a retinal product. I am purposely waiting until winter as I know it makes your skin more sensitive to UV light. Would I still need to apply SPF the morning after using retinal in winter?
