Ask yourself questions about the Meyers Brigg test itself! Food for thought. We have a lot of the same thoughts on these things. But one really important thing you keep saying is “what am i really getting from this?” Is this feeding me? What is it actually feeding me? As a genexer, like you, I loved reading. Now I struggle to read. I just spent 10 minutes unsubscribing to all the political vlogs here and retaining more balanced positive vlogs like yours…the truth and knowledge seekers…almost to a fault, lol, just like me. There are definitely benefits to some social media but we have to be wary of how much and if it is covering up an issue. Great video!
I am you. Also took that test and results were INTP took another one that said I was Melancholic which I could totally relate. I get bored with social media quickly and love taking frequent social media breaks. I do not like reading much cause I did a lot of that in uni but love long informative content. I feel more at peace offline than I do online. Such a great video
🔥🔥🔥
Bro… is your mic attached to a freaking icing spatula? As for me: largely unaffected by social media. Have accounts on all of them, but only use FB for the news, to find local companies and to update my fam about my son. Which was why I opened that account in the first place: abroad and an easy way to update on his development, and now progress. Oh…. also to occasionally rant about buses 😀
I left social media completely, earlier this year. For me it was complicated because it was crucial for my work for many years. I sold many many tickets to my performances because of Facebook over the years. All over the world. But for me, social media became extremely toxic. It was the misinformation that was spreading, it became a political and social cesspool. And since I am a social activist and a political activist with my work, I realize that I could no longer exist in that space because first of all, I was always preaching to the choir, I realized that all of my followers were there because they loved what I do. So that felt kind of useless for me, but second of all, it was the toxic nature of people attacking one another all the time, and after a while, I realized that it was based on nothing. It was just all triggers, but there was no meat on the bones. There was nothing there of value anymore. It was a mirror of what society has become, and to me, social media is the reason the world is falling apart right now. At least in this country, I blame it all on social media. People have become almost like sociopaths, they are uncomfortable with dealing with one another in person, they hide behind their made up profiles, nothing is reality anymore. Or I should say reality is not organic anymore. Everybody can manage the way the rest of the world perceives them 24 hours a day. To me, YouTube is not social media. I agree with almost everything you say about YouTube, but Facebook and Instagram, I had to completely shut those down. I was able to download all of my videos and photos and pretty much all of my exchanges, so I have everything that I created over the years downloaded on my computer. I’m grateful for that, because it’s a beautiful marking of time for me. Since I left, I feel so much better. I’m able to focus more on my scripts, my rehearsals, my relationships, I have always been someone who is very comfortable with being alone, and this gives me more time like that as well. And you’ve inspired me, I have always been able to understand Spanish pretty well, because so many Spanish speaking people were always around me where I grew up, but I think I wanna learn Spanish fluently, especially since Spanish-speaking people are being so marginalized right now, I want to be a better ally. Anyway, I digress. Great video, obviously you inspired way too many words out of my body. Lol thanks for sharing, your existence matters. Whether the followers come, whether people hit the like button or not, you’re doing epic work.
Hi there!I found you so beautiful and you’re a clever young lady also. You really can accomplish anything you desire in life without being afraid of the time you’ll spend to read or study to become a lawyer or a doctor or a psychologist and you could be one of those people. And these days most people’s choosing “look over brain “😮😅😂😊so sad 😔
I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my adult life right now. I have no IG, FB, TikTok or dating site profiles. Living like it’s 1999 over here 🤣💯🤘
Very usefull video, thank you! Right now i am reading a book by Johann Hari “Stolen focus” wich is kind of relevant to what you talk about. In my country now is not so easy to acess socail media like insta, fb, you need to use vpn. So its not so complicated to stop scrolling them )) I check my profiles maybe 4 times a month to post some announcments of my courses (i am an art teacher). I do it for those who are still using it with hope to get more students. While posting my info i found myself browsing for hours insta or fb as i used before, its like a black hole, half of the day gone. So i am kind of happy that i do it very rare now. For some people social media – is an instrument of work (like for me). But i agree the affect of it on our life is bad. Need to reconsider all the work strategy wich is not so easy.
Excelent i feal happy whitout social medial, stop compare me ,i am from argentina
Thank you for another great video. This absolutely resonates. I think social media can have its place, as you said. For since I have learned a lot on YouTube, and I find Facebook to be a good way to catch up with people going way back in my life. However, it can also be dangerous i(e.g., spread of false news, and harming young people’s perception of the world and their place in it).
