Info; 1️⃣ Schedule study time (with small rewards after) – Firstly, scheduling study at the SAME TIME each day will help them turn studying into a HABIT. In turn, your child will automatically feel like studying at that time (rather than relying on motivation, which is notoriously unreliable). Secondly, when you set a limited amount of time to study, this instils a sense of URGENCY, which can help children (especially those with ADHD) stay more focused and productive. The small reward after is because they earnt it (e.g., a yummy treat, game time) 📚

2️⃣ Let them teach YOU – one of the most effective study techniques is the Feynman Technique, where students are tasked with teaching someone who knows nothing about the topic. Once a student can teach a topic, they have mastered it. Help them even further by asking “so-what” questions or requesting diagrams/illustrations to understand 🤭

3️⃣ Help them create a dedicated study space – the human brain relies heavily on cues. Students that study in the bedroom or living room associate that area with sleep or relaxation, and thus will feel tired or unmotivated. By setting up a dedicated space (e.g., a desk in a seperate room, an assigned seat at the dining table, or if limited space at home, taking them to a local library), students will begin to associate that place with study, and fall into the rhythm much easier 🖥️
